Shaping a day

Every day looks different. Not because there’s an obvious change. But it just looks different. It sees with new light. The light that found the earth today is different from yesterday, and the day before that, and the day before that too. The day decided to rub its eyes a little harder than it needed to, and for some reason, more light came in. Perhaps it would remove some of the pains from yesterday, some of the residual regret of not having done something. Maybe it slept on the wrong side of the bed, and its neck was just cricked in the wrong direction. Just made everything a pain in the neck for 24 hours. Until the next day came along.

And saw the world different again.
