How to Talk

I made this zine called “How to Talk in 2025”, and I actually wrote it in 2024. The thing is, everything about how we talk now is really strange and no one really talks properly face to face anymore. There’s so much curation and there’s so many things we pretend about when we talk. And the worst part is that if I talk directly to someone now, it might be considered rude or intrusive.

But while talking to Leanne today about the Morning Pages I’ve been getting her to do, there are really a lot of things about writing everyday that really liberates you for just simple expressing. Especially writing in the morning. There’s this huge unplugging, like taking a good shit in the morning and you’re free for the day. Lighter somewhat. Perhaps that’s what leads me to speak a lot more, because I honestly write a ton, but I guess I could always write some more.

I also pulled out my fountain pens again the other day, all excited once more to start the year and run on my new diaries and hobonichi nonsense. I’ve got the five year diary hobonichi running from the start of this year, I’ve got a hobonichi original A6, and another hobonichi weeks mega. Basically I’m gonna have a ton of journals on me, with my iPad drawing all the time.

And I hope through all this, I’ll get more words out of my system in a day. I hope…
