I am aware of a growing number of people reading blog every now and then. I have no idea why, and also I am not sure what the main draw is. But I would like to report about the stories of today, today.
There were people walking around the earth. Some felt that they were owed more than others. Maybe it was because they grew up in a place where it was not easy to get by. They had a childhood where it took effort to have a simple people. Or they didn’t really have childhood, instead they had training on being a practical adult early on.
Some of the other people walking around the earth saw frustration and hurts. It’s not that they didn’t see the happy moments. They just couldn’t see past the pain. It hurt a lot just to be around. They were hurt by people, and continued to hurt others too. Sometimes these people just didn’t walk around anymore. They kinda just stopped.
Specific to this time and age, people had too much to know. The earth was quite huge, and realistically quite impossible for one person to know all things that were going on at the same time. And yet, many aspired to do so. Why was it so important to know what the other people were doing all over the world? Honestly, it did nothing much to improve their lives. Instead, it brought more frustration. Jealousy and envy at the excess others had; pity and frustration when others had less.
Even more specific to this time and age, the world was bent on “growth”. Funny enough, “growth” was not very much based on what they possessed, even though it appeared to be so. Growth was something inward, and needed time and patience. Both time and patience could not be bought with money. They also could not be given by others. For all the status and wealth amassed, many were not very grown people. Instead, they were quite similar to those who felt they were owed because of the troubles they had gone through before.
A small group were actually happy with what they had. But because they never really cared too much about what others thought about them, no one really knew they existed. They went about their lives, uncaring about what the rest of the world was doing, because they were happy with what they had.
The small group also weren’t very worried about their growth, or lack of. They just knew they were what they were meant to be, at the time they were meant to be. They actually possessed both time and patience, because they were not actively looking for it.
But no one heard about them, because they were not busy talking about themselves. They were listening to others talking. They were waiting for others to stop pushing and they were happy to wait. It made no difference how fast or slow someone did something, because they accepted the place they were there and then.
If only I was a little like this small group of people, perhaps I would be a little less frustrated, and a little less jealous, a little less upset, and a lot more content. But that’s a story for tomorrow.
