Bath Thoughts: On Writing.

I took a bath tonight; I don’t always take baths because of the water and environment and all that, but the optimal amount of baths to take was 4 baths a week according to Dr Rhonda Patrick, as verified by Tim Ferriss in Tools of Titans from my loose knowledge. https://www.foundmyfitness.com/topics/sauna gives you a quick rundown of the science behind it.

Anyway, I almost always lose focus in a bath.

But I recalled what I read in Stephen King’s On Writing. I’m at the portion where he goes through grammar and past tense, and I’ve since been reassessing how I write entirely.

I wrote about the intentionality and taking the page seriously, but I’ve honestly not considered grammar for so long. I just assume I write with great grammar, and I do almost no revisions. But I’ve adjusted this post four times already.

Tense tenses, I just want to write sometimes. But I know and feel how a well read sentence hits close, and both interest and empathy jump.

Then, I think about my pet peeves in reading, and my own assessments of what ought to be done when. I think by the time I’m done with the book, the responsibility of proper writing would rest heavy on my shoulders. It’s already creeping in, like sweat on a humid day.

But perhaps that’s the right course of action, I should write. Not word vomit. And find my edge in writing, word by word.
