TOM SACHS GENERAL PURPOSE SHOE

I never knew the day would come, where I would be able to order this shoe directly from tomsachs.com, and to safely say I would have the money to pay for it. I think it is incredibly lucky for me to even be able to buy the shoe in my size.

In case you don’t know, the Tom Sachs General Purpose Shoe (GPS) was made as a do-everything shoe. Prior to this, the artist Tom Sachs had made a shoe called the Mars Yard, meant to survive the Martian terrain in the NASA Space Programs. Of course, they were over engineered Nike shoes, and Tom Sachs made a few other versions of the Mars Yard.

Later, he made the GPS as a shoe one could wear around the studio without worry. It’s not meant for Mars, it’s meant for your daily tasks, going to work and running around for errands. It was decently priced, USD110, and sold a lot more commonly than the Mars Yard.

Of course, the shipping was insane the first time it came out, and I had no money to buy it — I was already in debt because of keyboards. Plus, by the time I saw the shoes on the site, they were sold out.

But this time round, things were different.
